Game:  The Super Special Summer Playday

 

Format:    Following today's play, there will be food, fun and games and nice cool air in the main dining room! Let's hear it for the Super Special Summer Playday!

The format is a 4-person Scramble. This event is played as a standard 4-person scramble and all scramble rules apply.

EXCEPT:
. All play on Par 3's will be from the Gold tees.
. All play on Par 4's will be from the 150 yard marker.
. All play on Par 5's will be from the 200 yard marker.

This is a play your own ball event. Each player tells the Pro Shop which two holes they do not want to count before starting play. All scores will be recorded on the score card with gross scores above the slash. The two holes that will not be counted will be indicated by entering a zero below the slash. Total score minus the two holes will be used for game scoring.

7 Up Individual

Tuesday & Wednesday, October 1st and 2nd 2024

Format:                     
Each player will play her own ball (medal play) until the ball is holed. Record the gross score on each hole. Equitable Stroke Control (picking up at your maximum per hole according to your handicap) does NOT come into play in this event. Pro shop will calculate net scores. Number of flights will be determined by number of entrants. If necessary, the overall gross champion will be determined by a sudden death playoff on Wednesday. Entry fee, proximity contests, and other pertinent information will be disseminated separately from this description.

 

Course:  Front Nine Tuesday; Back Nine Wednesday

 

Tees: Play is from declared tee.

 

Pairings: Will be made with respective tees, i.e. reds with reds and teals with teals.

                                                           

                                                           

 

U.S.G.A. RULES APPLY ALONG WITH THE FOLLOWING LOCAL RULES AS DETERMINED AND ANNOUNCED BY THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE:

• A ball that crosses the road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course. This comes in to play on holes #2, 3, 6 & 12.
• Embedded ball rule (25-2): Relief is permitted anywhere through the green, except in sand. The ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped.
• Fans: Relief is permitted for line of sight, lie of ball, stance and area of intended swing.
• All flower beds, or any landscaped area containing flowers within a prepared area of sorts, throughout the course are mandatory relief areas.
• Stones in bunkers are considered movable obstructions and may be removed.
• Place rakes OUTSIDE the bunkers.
• Distance measuring devices are permitted as long as they measure distance only.
• Penalty for Breach of a USGA or Local Rule or Condition is:
• Match Play: Loss of Hole
• Stroke Play: Two Strokes

Play with the DWGA18 hole ladies and enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres following play.

 

Whoo knows what the game will be?  Will it be a Scramble, a Shamble, a Trick or Treat?  It is all for fun!

 

There will be a "Closest to the Pin" for the 9 holers and another for the 18 holers so bring a $1 if you want to participate!
